Get a lower estate agency fee with an online agency, director Alexander Gosling says: ‘There is no justification for the one to two per cent fees charged, especially if a property has required very little work from an agent, outside of managing a few viewings. There is an ‘old boy’s network’ among agents. When it comes to fees, there is an unwritten rule not to go below one per cent.’

Gosling recently sold Alexi Calvert-Ansari’s Putney house for £1.59million within two weeks saving him £37,692 on traditional agency fees of two per cent. ‘He did the liaison himself which is why he made such huge savings,’
