House prices climb 1pc but Wales lags behind

Average property prices in England and Wales increased by 1% from June to July, with the average house price now standing at £164,098. 

The greatest monthly rise was seen in London and the East Midlands with a movement of 2.1%. At the other end of the spectrum, prices in Wales and the North East saw a decrease in monthly prices of 0.5%.
