Three of the best beer gardens in Manchester – and properties nearby
by Housesimple on 6th June 2018
With recent heatwaves in Manchester beating the Costa del Sol for temperature, we're hoping this summer is set to be a scorcher. We might not have the beaches of Benidorm, but we do have something even better – beer gardens.
We're rounding up some of the best ones in Manchester's neighbourhoods and a few properties nearby, so you can find a dream home and a perfect new local all at once.
Rosylee – The Northern Quarter
Known throughout Manchester as a great place to soak up some rays, Rosylee has a huge suntrap terrace overlooking Stevenson Square in this trendy central neighbourhood. Bottomless weekend brunches are on offer for those who want to get started early, and if you're not into beer you can enjoy the happy hour cocktail and wine deals instead.
Make it your local: Living in this two-bedroom property in Signature Mill on Lower Vickers Street means you can work up an appetite for brunch at the bar by strolling there along the canal. The flat is part of a new development set to be completed in October, inside what used to be a six-storey textile mill.
The Fletchers Arms – Denton
With an artisan gin bar, wide selection of craft beers and a delicious Sunday carvery, it's easy to see why The Fletchers Arms is Denton's ’worst-kept secret.’ The outdoor seating area, with its large wooden tables, is a popular spot for relaxing. At night they switch on the fairy lights, adding extra atmosphere. If the good weather doesn't last, head inside to the plush armchairs and roaring fire.
Make it your local: This beautiful period three-bedroom terraced house is just a 15-minute walk away. If you can't get a seat at Fletcher's, you can always enjoy the sun (and a drink) in your own private yard.
The Toll Gate – Old Trafford
A classic British boozer and Manchester icon, the Toll Gate is the go-to spot for match day drinks – it's only ten minutes' walk from the stadium, after all. If you don't have tickets you can watch inside via Sky Sports or head out and soak up the sunshine from one of the numerous outdoor picnic tables. Like all of Marston's pubs, it has a selection of cask ales.
Make it your local: If you're handy with DiY and fancy living five minutes away from the pub, you can snap up a bargain with this four-bedroom semi-detached house. The spacious lounge and dining room make it great for entertaining, so it's a winner when you're playing at home, too.
